U.K., German distribs nab 'Jackpot'

LONDON -- Germany's NFP and also the U.K.'s Metrodome have acquired distribution privileges to Tarantino-esque action-comedy "Jackpot" in the European Film Market, where Magnus Martens' film made its market preem.According to an authentic story by best-selling author Jo Nesbo, the pic was created by Are Heidenstrom and Martin Sundland from Fantefilm Fiksjon. The shingle created the "Cold Prey" horror-thriller trilogy, and it is in publish-production with epic action-adventure "Escape.""Jackpot's" worldwide sales are addressed by TrustNordisk, that also introduced sales for that fast-paced Icelandic thriller "Black's Game" to Germany's Koch Media, Benelux's Wild Bunch and Estonia's Estin Film. Oscar Thor Axelsson's debut feature, which performed in the Rotterdam Film Festival, had formerly been acquired through the U.K.'s eOne and Swiss distrib Frenetic Films.TrustNordisk also introduced that carrying out a screening for purchasers of the promo for Thomas Vinterberg's "The Search," it had closed handles Arrow Films within the U.K. and Wild Bunch for Benelux. The film, which stars Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen like a guy wrongly accused by his neighborhood who must battle to get his existence back in line, is within publish-production. It's created by Sisse Graum Jorgensen and Morten Kaufmann for Zentropa with support in the Danish Film Institute and DR. Nordisk Film will handle local distribution.
